The idea filled Katelina with terror. She didn’t want to be a vampire, let alone one under Malick’s infamous tutelage. Jorick had been clear enough at the horrors that entailed. She struggled uselessly and bellowed, “I’m not going anywhere!” “Sorry,” he repeated. “But we are.”
