Yes, I am officially announcing the title for book four is Ashes of Deceit. I’m not super- super in love with it, but I like it well enough, and it works, so that’s what matters. (plus it starts with an A so it will get placed higher in alphabetized lists!) And while I am announcing things, here is the synopsis:
As Oren’s attack on the vampire citadel draws nearer, Katelina and Jorick are supposed to be packing for a trip to the tropics. Instead, they’re on their way to rescue a kidnapped vampire. The attempt turns to bloody disaster and leaves unanswered questions: how and why was Kale kidnapped and, most importantly, by whom?
Kale’s wife has a theory, and though Katelina wants nothing more than to leave the battles and bloodshed behind, she and Jorick are drawn into a fight whose horrific outcome weaves a gruesome path back to the Citadel.
As the flames of war ignite, loyalties will become confused and Katelina and Jorick will find themselves forced to choose sides. Amidst the chaos, can they rise from the ashes of turmoil, like the legendary Phoenix, or will they be consumed by the inferno of destruction?
