Six Sentence Sunday

It’s time again for six sentence Sunday – only this week is the anniversary (see my previous blog all about that!) –  and I am still plodding along slowly on my WIP Ties of Blood.

(working cover)

Since everyone wanted to know where Katelina was going… well, now you know:

“Yes, by the way, I am serious. Where else do you think The Guild’s citadel is?” “Iowa?” she repeated with disbelief. “There’s nothing in Iowa except corn.”

“And lots of Vampires,” Verchiel added.  “Can you think of a better place?”

I’m an Iowan girl at heart. Where else would it be? 😉

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the other participants!

  1. I love the humor in this excerpt! 🙂

  2. I have to admit Iowa and vamps are not something I would put together!

  3. Ok, now I have another reason to get back to Korea ASAP. I do not need to still be here and have some Vampire decide to snack on me. *shakes her head* nonono.

Great Six, see you next week.

  4. Vampires, yes! As long as they don’t sparkle, I’m in! 😉

  5. lol loved it! Gotta watch those midwestern towns lol

  6. I have to agree with the ‘as long as they don’t sparkle’ sentiment.

Iowa. Isn’t that where the Children of the Corn took place? If so, then it makes perfect sense that vampires would be there too. 😛

  7. Smack in the middle of nowhere. Perfect place for vamps and perfect six!

  8. Loved this! I’ve been to Iowa and have to agree. Lots and lots of corn. 🙂

  9. I will never think of Iowa the same way again

Nebraska would be another good choice. Thanks for the humorous snippet!

    • Thanks, Joder! yeah, Nebraska would work well, too, especially once you get out into that no mas land in the western half!

  11. oh you ! giggle

  12. I love it! Vampires in Iowa. My publisher at PPB would love it too. She’s in Iowa. LOL

    • Thanks, Lex! Iowa gets treated shoddy when it comes to the paranormal, but all that open space just reeks of it to me!

  13. Love how you picked Iowa as a hot spot for vamps. Works as well as Sunnydale for me.

LOL…I don’t think I will be able to look at corn without thinking of Vampires!

  15. I think you could find lots of vampires even in Roma! 😉
    Great six!

I love humor in a paranormal story, and can’t wait to read more.

Iowa- what could be a better cover for a hoard of vamps than corn fields. *snicker

    Great Six

  21. Duh. Smacks head. Of course. Iowa. Where the hell else?

  22. Well apparently, there are lots of vampires in iowa, where else would it be?

  23. LOL of course the vampires are in Iowa–makes total sense 🙂

  24. If I ever go through Iowa I better go prepared for vampires. LOL, that was fun to read.

  25. Love it!!! I was born in Iowa! I also love vampires!

  26. Haha! Iowa would be the last place someone would look for a vampire hideout.

  27. Love that the vampires are all in Iowa!

  28. Vamps you’ve won me !! great sixer !! cant wait till next weeks 😉

  29. IOWA, corn and vampires! Just hope those two don’t get together, or they’ll be a repeat of Children of the Corn EEP

Great humor in these six. Iowa? Well, you can avoid sunburn walking through corn stalks!

  31. Yes Iowa. That makes sense! All the scary night things come from there.

  32. I’m one generation removed from Iowa here, but I’m sure vampires wouldn’t turn down some unsuspecting, wholesome, corn fed prey.

  33. Interesting…let’s go to Iowa! Cool 6.

  34. Iowa. Of course! It makes sense. 🙂

  35. Nice twist. I would have never thought to look for them there. 🙂
