Lots-O-Links #4

This is the fourth edition of Lots-O-Links, posts where I randomly share links. Fun, huh? I can now call it the weekly post that one person has gone on record as liking. Pretty cool!

If you have any links to share please mail them to me at Joleene (at) JoleeneNaylor (dot) com or else post them in the comments!

First of all, check out the awesome Interview Barb posted with yours truly 🙂 I had planned to do a big “go read this” post on the day of, but I was so sick I ended up missing it. That doesn’t mean you should, though 😉  Be sure and check out her work while you’re there!

After the copyright fiasco, Ruth Ann Nordin shares the Digital Millennium Copyright Request Form, along with instructions on how to fill it out. Hopefully none of us will ever need it, but it’s good to know it’s there if we do!

On the subject of authors, Barb posted a link to a great blog that has the 30 harshest author on author insults. Mark Twain’s quote about jane Austen, “Every time I read ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ I want to dig her up and hit her over the skull with her own shin-bone.” gets the win in my opinion.

Mark Coker was interviewed by Michael Wolf for a pocast. They discussed many things including what’s next for smashwords, the future of big publishers and how the attitude is shifting towards indy authors. Lots of good stuff here.

Webmaster and bloggers often have a good use for forms; Reena Jacobs, for example, uses Google forms for her author interviews.  Adobe has decided to nose in on the form building action and launched AdobeForms central. I haven’t used it yet, but the free service looks pretty cool.

Author/Artist/playwright Sam Haven’s new website is up. It includes and Art Gallery and information about his plays.

In ebooks, David Knight’s Pathway (second edition) is now on Smashwords for a very cheap $.99.  A sample of the tags include: karma,  channeling,  ascension,   dreams,  aliens,  meditation,  oneness,  divine lovedreams and visions,  divine presence,  esoteric teaching,  love and life,  god consciousness,  god in you etc.

And in a different kind of story, check out Ren Stogner’s first short YA write, Dead Silence; Demons, angels, empaths and more. It’s a 31,000 word freebie, but it is a Yaoi, slash, m/m, (whatever you choose to call some hot guys who like one another) I’ve finished it and given it a five star for entertainment value. If you’re m/m sensitive, give it a skip, though, as there are a couple of physical scenes (though tastefully done).

In other ebook news B. Regan Asher has two books out Il Vendetta and White Cell, both thrillers that look to have plenty of twists, turns, intrigue and action.

And that’s all I have right now. Have a great week everyone!

  1. I’m a HUGE fan of Lots of Links! He! He! I shared the one about the author on author insults on facebook. It made my day seeing famous authors hating on each other. Yes, I know that’s twisted. 😉 Here’s a link that was shared earlier with me. Enjoy!

  2. Wah! Keep distracting me and I’ll never start your second novel!
Now I’m off reading the suggested freebie at the end of this post… sigh! 😉
Long live yaoi or whatever they want to call them… 😀

    • Gwahahahaha! I am like the queen of distractions… Jonathan is the king though. I bet it’s his fault my third book isn’t published yet 😉 (not really, but shhhh 😉 )
