Day Three:
Katelina followed Jorick’s gaze. The door at the back of the room was covered in diamond shaped warning labels. If not for the seriousness of the situation, they would have been comical. One had an injured hand with blood dripping from it crossed out, while a second showed a pair of swirly eyes and warned against “vampire hypnosis”. A third showed the black silhouette of a human head with large white fangs where the mouth belonged. “Warning: Vampires may be more dangerous than they appear. Exercise caution at all times”.
“My God, Jorick, where would they get a sticker like that?”
“I don’t know. Perhaps they made it.” He ran his hand around the door and then, with a shrug, tried the handle. It swung open on silent hinges. “Someone forgot to lock up.” Though he joked, his eyes held guarded caution.
Three lucky winners will each get a set of two(2) vinyl stickers. Stick them on your door, your laptop, or your secret lab.
Good luck and thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check back tomorrow for another fun giveaway, and if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the other Ten Days of Giveaways blogs!
What vampire trait do you find the “scariest”? (I’ll share the most interesting answers(s) on facebook.)
sharonstogner
/ May 24, 2012I think their speed is the scariest. You can’t get away if they really want to catch you. Love the stickers!
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012yeah, and I run slow anyway, LOL!
Thanks, Sharon! 😀
Crystal Young
/ May 24, 2012The fact that you can’t hear them coming up to you.
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012oooh! Good one, Crystal! I can imagine the terror of turning around and – bam! – evil vampire ready to bite through your neck!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

/ May 24, 2012The arrogance that all vampires seem to have…can you imagine spending an eternity with only THAT to hang out with? Now wonder Jorick keeps Katelina around…

/ May 25, 2012I know! This is true! I can;t think of very many of them I would want to spend forever with!
Thanks for stopping by, Amy 🙂
DM Yates
/ May 24, 2012That’s what I love most about Jorick – his guarded caution.
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012hee-hee, yes! though sometimes he is over cautious… and then he goes nuts and throws caution to the wind!
Stacy
/ May 24, 2012Their eyes scare me….it is almost like when you look in their eyes they can see way more then anyone else can!! I would hate for anyone to look at me like they know way more about me then I want them to know! 🙂
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012I know, right? There are plenty of things I think that I’m happy no one else knows, LOL!
Thanks for stopping in, Stacy!

/ May 24, 2012I think their speed is one of the scariest because if i was trying to get away from one i wouldn’t get very far. On the other hand their speed could come in handy if one were my friend and i was in a hurry. lol syndiasia@yahoo.com
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012LOL! that’s true, Jennifer! it would make running to the store much faster!
Thanks for entering 🙂
Ranena
/ May 24, 2012I think its the ability they have to be so unfeeling….to lose your human side to feel emotions other than anger and love (in Joricks case) and be so nonchalant about anything other than their own needs or wants
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012It’s fascinating how selfish a few hundred years makes them, huh?
Thanks for coming by, Ranena!
Wendy
/ May 24, 2012Their cold uncaring side to humans! That we are food not worth anything. I love Jorick because he has some humanity left and strives to keep it.
Joleene Naylor
/ May 25, 2012Yes! So many of them treat people like cattle! it’s like they forget that they started out human.
Thanks for stopping by, Wendy!
Juli Hoffman
/ May 24, 2012Love the stickers, Jo!
I think this is another tough question! I’d have to say the “scariest” trait is their immortality. Old vampires are soooooo set in their ways. What a pain in the tush!
For, example, let’s say you want to vent to your favorite vampire. No matter what you say, they can ALWAYS “one up” you.
“I think my car’s going to need new tires.”
“Tires? Back in MY day, we didn’t have tires! We didn’t own a horse, either. We walked through raw sewage in our bare feet, but none of that mattered because we were grateful for what we had!”
Or, you try to help you’re favorite vampire do a little spring cleaning, and there’s like three centuries worth of crap sitting in totes in the back of the closet, and your all like, “Listen! You’re never going to need any of this stuff! Why don’t you have a garage sale or something.” Then, they get all sulky because YOU’RE the heartless one, and they remind you that Vampires can’t have a garage sale at midnight, and why are you going through their stuff in the first place! I hate it when that happens!
Or, they get “stuck” in their ways and decide that they no longer want to move ahead with the times. So you’re sitting in a drafty old house with no electricity and no running water, and you’re bored out of your mind, but you try to be polite. Then your favorite vampire thinks it would be fun to play charades, but you can only reenact The Black Plague so many times before it’s not funny anymore, it’s just redundant. 😉

/ May 25, 2012OMG! HAHAHAHAHA!
“..“Tires? Back in MY day, we didn’t have tires! We didn’t own a horse, either. We walked through raw sewage in our bare feet, but none of that mattered because we were grateful for what we had!”..” That SO made me think of Jorick! I can imagine him spouting that while Katelina is grumbling about something!

/ May 25, 2012I think having the ability to be so fast that even the other vampires have trouble seeing you is cool.

/ May 31, 2012I say the scariest trait is the fact that they live forever.I mean its a little creepy especially when their birthday comes around cause you’ll have to be like wait how old are you again.plus it could be a fire hazard trying to fit so many candles on one cake.
