Ten Days of Giveaways: Day Seven

To celebrate the release of the fourth book in the Amaranthine series I am hosting ten days of giveaways on this blog! Each day from, May 22 – 31, I will post a tiny excerpt of the fourth book and a prize. To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment with your email address on the blog and you will be automatically entered to win the prize being given away in that blog post! (yes, that means to enter for all ten prizes you have to comment on each of the ten blogs.) If you’re not comfortable leaving your address in a comment, please email it to m at Joleene (at) JoleeneNaylor.com and be sure to let me know which blog you’re entering for.  Random.org will pick the winners on June 4th. I will contact the winners for your mailing address and send the prizes shortly after.

Day Seven:

They looked to see Saeed in the doorway. He shifted his muscled bulk from one foot to the other. “We have extended our protection to this human.”

Joseff jerked away and roared, “Maybe you have, but I haven’t! What is wrong with all of you? You had no love for Claudius, but she killed your Mistress! And her master killed your brother! How can you forget that?”

“I haven’t forgotten,” Saeed answered with no emotion.

“Then how can you shelter her? Am I the only sane one left?” A strange smile twisted across his face. “The stupid human is the only one who makes any damned sense around here! At least she knows to hate us as much as we hate her!”

“You are the only one who hates,” Saeed said quietly. “And it will consume you.”

Three lucky winners will each get one large vinyl sticker. Stick them on your door, your laptop, or your secret lab.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check back tomorrow for another fun giveaway, and if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the other Ten Days of Giveaways blogs!

Who do you think really IS the only sane vampire? (I’ll share the most interesting answers(s) on facebook.)

They’ve been carrying around emotional baggage for centuries. So… none of them!

Haven’t found one yet. Some are just more damaged than others..lol

are you talking about your vamps or out of all the vamps? out of yours I would say Verchiel. He is a smart ass, but seems to have his head on straight. I have to agree with Marta and say none of them really… but let me think on it a while…

None really, although some SEEM saner than others. Ex. Saeed seems pretty sane to me, in that fact that he follows his conscience, without being unnecessarily cruel. Even down to killing his maker, they were taken as slaves after all, so that murder seems pretty sane to me. Jamie also seems pretty sane. He’s “just doing his job,” but doesn’t seem to get off of unnecessary cruelty either (he did the mind trick on K while Jorick was knocked out, for example). But they all seem pretty damaged. blueridgephotos@yahoo.com

    • Yeah, i think they could all use a good psychiatrist! But Saeed does seem to be working on inner peace, at least 🙂

I would say none of them but Vercheil maybe he is so calm and Loren he hasn’t been a Vampire as long. crystaley73 at yahoo dot com

I would say Loren or Micah are the sanest ones if the bunch. I like Verchiel bet he is definitely crazy maybe not insane but crazy nonetheless.

  7. Love the sign. lol. And Joseff is an idiot who hasn’t yet gotten what he deserves.

  8. Love the sticker, Jo!
Saeed seems to have his head screwed on straight, but I don’t think any of your vampires are entirely sane. 😉

I haven’t really read the books but I don’t believe there could be a sane vampire.Guess I wont believe it till I see it(or read it anyways)

    sorry forgot the email

  11. I worry, because if it takes making sense for vampires to listen, I might be in danger.
