The Second Synopsis

FRONT COVER smallYou may look at the title and think “I missed the first synopsis”, which would be understandable because the only place I posted it was on my Facebook Author Page. (I also post daily bitstrip comics featuring Katelina, Jorick, and Verchiel, as well as other goodies, so if you haven’t “liked” it yet, you should!)

Now on to the synopsis:

After three months away, Katelina and Jorick’s homecoming isn’t what they expected. Her best friend Sarah is back and hesitant to share how she survived being tortured – and killed – by vampires. Hounded by her mother and dragged to Easter dinner with her family, Katelina is almost relieved when she and Jorick are sent to guard an exclusive vampire party.

Her relief is short lived. Surrounded by ancients, Sarah claims she’s being stalked while they sleep. Katelina isn’t sure whether to believe her or chalk it up to whatever causes her mood swings. But, if Sarah is right, who could it be? William, an old enemy of Jorick’s, or the terrifying twins Tol and Ren? When everyone seems suspicious, it’s hard to tell who the culprit is.

Then they find a dead child whose heart is missing, just like the murders in the Heartless killings. Does that mean the serial killer is a vampire – and a guest at the party? Could it have anything to do with their stalker, or is it simply too much evil in one place?

The eighth book in the Amaranthine series plunges back into darkness, steeped in superstitions and death, where vampires are once again vicious creatures of the night.

I’m unfamiliar with the series, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

    I had a couple of ambiguous spots…

Hounded by her mother and dragged to Easter dinner with her family, <– I hadn't realized the her switched from Sarah to Katelina, so I had to reread the emphasized line.

Surrounded by ancients, Sarah claims she’s being stalked while they sleep.
I don’t know if “they” refers to the ancients or Sarah and the gang. And since I’m unfamiliar with the series, “Surrounded by ancients” and “while they sleep” don’t have much meaning to me. Along those lines, “William, an old enemy of Jorick’s, or the terrifying twins Tol and Ren?” also doesn’t add much for me.

I’d suggest a couple of word changes for punchy-ness, but they might deviate from your voice:

    Sarah claims she’s being stalked.

Then they find a dead child with missing heart, just like the murders in the Heartless killings. Is the serial killer a vampire – and a guest at the party?

Anyways, the content is there an interesting.

Sheesh, I sound like a nitpicky complainer. Sorry about that.

      *with a missing heart

All the more reason not to put much weight on my suggestions. >_<

      • LOL!! No, not nit-picky at all! Thanks so much! 😀 It’s hard to get feedback, I think because people *are* worried about sounding picky, so they just say “That’s nice”. Really appreciate it!
