As you have probably guessed, I am a new character in the Amaranthine series. Though we’ll meet officially in Heart of the Raven, the fifth book in the series, which will be officially released March 13, 2013, my author thought it would be fun to introduce me early. My author posted and asked what you’d like to know, so here are the answers:

How did you become entangled with Jorick and friends?

This is a tricky question for me to answer. I knew one of them a long time ago.

Are you ever saddened that you were turned?

I am not saddened by it anymore. perhaps I was at first, when I fully understood what it meant, but I have since come to accept it.

What’s your name?

In the United States you would say it is Maeko Tsukino

Are you good or evil?

Does anyone believe that they are evil? I would guess that Nordin-san means “Does Jorick-ue and Kate-chan consider you good or evil” and I would hope that they think I am good.

I hope this has answered some of your questions! Now for a Valentine’s prize.

Enter to win this Valentine prize basket (including everything you need for a romantic day with your books: a goblet for your favorite drink, a candle to set the mood, my favorite pocky sticks and a cuddly friend) by leaving your email address in a comment below. My author will use Random.org to choose the winner on February 17th, 2013. The winner will be notified by email and will need to provide a mailing address. Should the winner regrettably be allergic to the Red 40 in the pocky sticks, a chocolate variety will be substituted.

Feelin’ Lucky Blog Hop Giveaway

Fictional Candy

Welcome to the Feelin’ Lucky Giveaway Hop, hosted by I Smell Sheep and Fictional Candy! It lasts March 7-13th, so you have plenty of time to check out the other blogs. Because I’m on wordpress you’ll have to click the Linky link at the bottom of this blog to be taken to the list of participating blogs.

“Eh?”

It’s a blog hop. Thus called because people “hop” from one blog to another. And it’s all green for St. Patrick’s day. Get it? Feelin’ Lucky-

“I get it. I’ve just never seen you do a hop before, Jo.”

Well, this is my first hop, so be gentle 😉

So are you feelin’ lucky? Is the luck of the Irish with you? Three winners will receive a free copy of one of the Amaranathine book of their choice, downloaded from Smashwords. (You can get any format you choose there: mobi, epub, pdf, even a text file!).

“But it’s a series, Jo! Why the choice?”

I dunno. Because choices are fun. Besides, What if someone read the first book already, but never made it back to the others. Why would they want to win it over again?

And now if the peanut gallery is done asking questions, it’s time for you to enter to win! Just leave your name, contact info and the book of your choice in the comments below. Random.org will choose three lucky winners on the 14th and I will mail the winners with links and a coupon code.

And now for the books:

Book 1: Shades of Gray

Hunted by a coven of vampires, Katelina has only one person she can trust: Jorick. But when her knight in shining armor turns out to be one of the monsters she has to examine her perceptions of good and evil to survive.

Book 2: Legacy of Ghosts

After the events of Shades of Gray, Katelina and Jorick seek peace but it’s hard to come by. Kateesha plans to fight the same battle as Jorick’s fledgling, but a common enemy isn’t enough to overcome past betrayals. Drawn into a deathly conflict, Jorick and Katelina must learn to overcome old regrets, or risk loosing their future to the ghosts of their past.

Book 3: Ties of Blood

With Kateesha dead, it’s time to face the consequences. On a trip home they meet Verchiel, a too friendly vampire, then the police arrest Jorick. They barely get away when Katelina is taken to face Malick, the head of The Guild. Will Jorick get there in time? Who is the terrifying vampire she saw in the woods, and why won’t Verchiel go away?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, may the luck ‘o the Irish be with you and go check out those other blogs!!

Memtastic Award

*sniff* After all these years of blogging I was finally given an award by the ever talented Elizabeth Reyes and, though my research says the maker of the award said it was terrible (complete with comic sans font and a jumping kitten) I think it is adorable! I love jumping kittens!

Now for the rules:

1. I must proudly display the absolutely wonderful, although rather strange, graphic in a post.(and there is is – jumping kitten and all!)

2. I must list 5 things about myself, and 4 of them must be bold-faced lies. My readers are to guess which one is the truth by posting a comment on My blog.

3. I must pass on this awesomely, prestigious award to 5 deserving bloggers.

Fun! Fun!

So which of these things is a lie:

1. My house is decorated in pink with fluffy stuffed animals.

2. I am addicted to Go Go Fruits and if if I do not have my appley-sauce goodness at least once a day I am cranky.

3. My fondest dream is to write a book about magical ponies.

4. My dog is a champion and will dance on command.

5. My husband is a world famous musical composer.

Now, I must pass on this award to the following lucky recipients.

1. The Supremely Hilarious Jonathan Harvey – aka Jissilly – who blogs at http://updatesinplaid.wordpress.com/

2. The Ever Delightful Sassy Sue who blogs at http://sassyspeaks.wordpress.com/

3. The Amazingly Awesome Barbara Tarn who blogs at http://creativebarbwire.wordpress.com/

4.The Wonderfully Dark Alannah Murphy (and her vampire boy) who blog at http://sinisterechoes.com/

5. The superbly Sweet Ruth Ann Nordin, romance author, who blogs at http://ruthannnordinauthorblog.wordpress.com/

Display this with pride! Jumping kitten and all! 😀

Of note: Because he gets so many awards I saw my way to not tagging The super creative Richard North who blogs at http://artswebshow.com/ OR the ever brilliant Stephanie Beaman, mythical romance author, who blogs at http://stephanniebeman.com/, who I know Ruth will want to give it to! However, both deserve a mention! 😉

The Proof is Here

Last night I posted a blog elsewhere and expressed concern about my missing proof for Legacy of Ghosts. The gods of the mail service must have read it, because the proof arrived today!

The snazy front cover!

I’d like to point out that there is no pink involved this time – only a bit of purple. But purple is cool. And so what if it ends up colored a little girly? I am a girl, after all. And besides, this book has a lot more romance than the last one did. Yes, there’s still killing and blood, but the focus of the first one was setting up their situation, and the main focus in this one is setting their relationship up and dusting all the little road blocks out of the way so we can move on in the next book. so, yes, there is less fighting and killing in this book, but they couldn’t and more “emotional” drama, but they can’t “grow” any if they have to spend every second running for their lives. I mean, how can you establish a relationship that way?

Anyway, here’s the back:

There should be a gray box around the quotes.... but as you can see it is invisible

So yeah, I need to darken up the box on the back cover a bit, and as for the text, well….

"here's a typo, there's a semi colon, everywhere's some rephrasing..."

Yep. I’m on page 76 and I’ve already found a few typos, inverted quotes and changed some wording.  When I was first doing writing/publishing research so many blogs and sites commented that a manuscript “read” differently on paper vs on the computer screen, and they’re right! I know it must be psychological, but it’s there just the same.

Okay, silly as it is, wanted to share that with the world 🙂
