New Website

Okay, it’s not really new, only redesigned a little bit.

site

There’s a slideshow on the homepage with important info, and more vampire-esque graphics. The meet the characters page may get some further treatment, but for now all the book pages have been redone, as well as a new “In Paperback” page to make finding the paperback versions easier, and my social media links are better organized on my bio page.

I like it – but the question is: What do you think? Did you run into any anomalies? Do you find anything hard to navigate? Is there anything you’d like to see that I’ve missed? Let me know what you think!

Official Website Launch!

It’s official! The new website – http://JoleeneNaylor.com – is finished. Done. Ready for world wide release.

So what does that mean?

It’s time for a giveaway! Since the latest book is Heart of the Raven… what? No, sadly I don’t have any vampire hearts up for grabs, but I do have the next best thing – some adorable little ravens!

crows

That’s right, up to three lucky winners will each get one of these little ravens. They come with wire on their feet so you can attach them to anything you want. They look great as everyday decor, or with Halloween around the corner you can use them as part of you holiday decorations. How do you enter? It’s easy, just checkout the updated site at http://JoleeneNaylor.com and then let me know in a comment below what your favorite part is. The more entries I get, the more winners there will be (up to three), so be sure to share it (there are some handy Facebook, twitter, Pinterest buttons etc. at the bottom of this post).

And that’s it! Check the site, leave a comment below (with a way for me to contact you, either email or your facebook profile) and you’re entered. Random.org will choose the winner(s) on the 30th of September and I will notify them by mail or FB message no later than October 2nd. If I don’t hear back within a week I will choose a new winner. Etc. Etc.

Thanks for stopping in and good luck!

Go Take a Peek!

homepage

my artistic rendering – this is what it will look like when twitter works.

Today is the official beta launch of the new website at http://JoleeneNaylor.com! I know, I have chills.

It is a complete redesign that breaks the photos and book covers off into their own sites (and soon their own domains. The cover art has it’s own, but photos will need moved later). The meet the characters gallery is now live on the book site, as is a freebie page with downloads for wallpaper and print yourself book markers, as well as a printable book list (Thanks, Sharon!) and a blog RSS feed. The twitter feed is still throwing some issues so for the sake of beta testing it has a “coming soon” announcement instead of a list of tweets.  There are also links to all my interviews and guest posts, as well as book reviews , so if you’ve posted a book review (on a blog or website) that I missed please let me know and we’ll add the link.

In other news, the winner was chosen for the Summer Love Blog Hop post and I sent them notification. For various reasons I was offline all weekend, but I imagine they have answered me, so yay! ON a less good note, Amazon has still not price matched the Heart of the Raven Mini Prologue Collection *sigh* but hopefully they will soon.

And with that I am out. If you get a chance please take a look at the new site and let me know what you think.  Do you like it better than the old site? Is it easy to use? Did you find any broken links?

Thanks so much for your feedback!signature for white

It’s New, It’s Shiny!

2 - jorickIt’s the spanky new Character Gallery! That’s right, the character gallery I have been promising people for over a year is finally up – on my blog, that is. Alas my webtech has not gotten it working on the website yet, so I have superseded him and put it here.  You can access the bios and concept drawings of 28 characters and 12 Executioners on the Meet the Characters page. Not only will it help you keep track of who all those pesky characters are, but it gives me somewhere to post the artwork I keep churning out.

Speaking of the website, I am in the middle of redesigning it. Okay, not the middle, the beginning stages, but a redesgin and streamline is eventually coming. Now’s your chance to tell me what you like or don’t like about the site, what you’d like to see, or what you think can go, go, go. Of course the main focus is going to be on the books with a minor focus on the cover art, and I think I may leave the photography section just because it’s cool. However, I think the short stories, poems and artwork sections may bite the big one.

So, if you haven’t checked it out before, do so now – http://JoleeneNaylor.com – sometimes it takes a moment or two to load on slower connections, and in some browsers the “loading” does not show up for some reason, so give it a moment before you say “It’s not working”. (this is one of the things that will be addressed in the new design). Then, share your thoughts in the comments.

Have a great day! signature for white

All the Projects

Though I try not to mention my other projects on this blog, they are in the newsletters, and they do creep out now and then. I’ve had a few questions and some confusion lately, so I am going to try to lay things out in a simpler manner.

Amaranthine Night: http://JoleeneNaylor.wordpress.com

This is my author blog. Posts include writing that pertains to my vampire book series, information and promotions about Independent publishing and Indie authors, and cool, random vampire stuff.

Are there vampires? Yes, yes there are. In spades.

Ramblings from the Darkness: http://RamblingsFromTheDarkness.wordpress.com/

Since the Myspace 3.0 disaster, this is my new personal blog. I can’t just import old posts, so I am reposting some of the more interesting ones. Categories include photography, art, writing, poetry, random yacking, fun randomness, rants, short stories, flash fiction, etc.

Are there vampires? Sometimes.

The Terrible Turtle Conspiracy: http://TerribleTurtles.com

A weekly webcomic written by Jonathan Harvey and illustrated by myself. We add a new page every week.

Are there vampires? Um.. not really.

The Self Published Authors’ Lounge: http://selfpubauthors.wordpress.com/

A blog about Self Publishing – from How to’s to why for’s – that I and five other author’s contribute to.

Are there vampires? No.

Book Cover Art: http://CoverArt.JoleeneNaylor.com

I do a variety of freelance cover art for Independent authors at pretty reasonable prices.

Are there vampires? Rarely.

Photography: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pandora_6666/collections/

My photo and art galleries on Flickr.  Most of my photos are licensed Creative Commons Attribution (meaning you need to credit me, but otherwise you can use them for what you want),  and my art work is Creative Commons Non-Commercial (If you want/need it for something commercial just ask). I try to keep the stock photos organized into collections and sets like trees, flowers, animals, etc. to make it easier to find what you want.

Are there vampires? Um, a handful.

The website: http://JoleeneNaylor.com

My website, where it’s all pulled together in one organized, and very black, place.

Are there vampires? Yes.

Hopefully this helps clarify the tangled web of projects I get myself in to.

The New Website is Up!

Officially announcing the new JoleeneNaylor.com – it is finally finished and online!

So what’s new about the site that makes it so exciting?

The navigation has been cleaned up with the use of sub-menu,  so it’s easier to get where you’re going, and there are some new sections – including the Legacy of Ghosts section where you can get all the info, read chapter samples, see character bios and get html code to help spread the word about the book.

101 Tips for Traveling with a Vampire also has it’s own section now, including a free sample and the bonus tips for Living with a Vampire; helpful ideas no matter your relationship with the undead is.

There is also a new Cover Art Gallery, and the short stories and flash fiction have been broken up into their own pages to better accommodate the growing archive of  free reads.

All together, the site took longer to program than we anticipated, but I think it was worth it. What I want to know is what YOU think! Go take a look and let me know your opinions.
